Hello and Welcome to Leadex!
Leadex & Co. is a Taiwan-based textile and material company specializing in fabrics, linings, textile development, and sourcing. Through our own fabric collections and close collaboration with trusted Taiwanese fabric mill partners, we support clients with product-specific textile solutions.
As the U.S. branch of Leadex & Co., Gaia Material brings Taiwan’s material resources closer to the North American market, with a focus on Taiwanese resin and polymer material solutions, including PET and other plastic resin materials.
Together, Leadex & Co. and Gaia Material serve as a bridge between Taiwan’s textile and material network and global clients—supporting fabric sourcing, development coordination, resin materials, and responsible material solutions with trust, transparency, and reliable service.
It Started with a Suit...
Our story began in 1966 in Taipei’s historic Dadaocheng textile district, where our founder, Mr. Xin-Yi Huang, recognized something many overlooked at the time: the quality of a garment begins from the inside.
While the fashion industry often focused on outer appearance, Mr. Huang believed that linings and materials closest to the skin were just as important as outerwear fabrics. With this vision, Chao Huei Silk & Woolen Co., Ltd.—now known as Leadex & Co.—was established to provide high-quality lining materials for Taiwan’s apparel industry.

Quality. Safety. Comfort.
Soon after, we became the Taiwan agent for Asahi Kasei’s Bemberg® Cupro linings, introducing a material known for its smooth touch, breathability, and refined comfort. This foundation shaped our long-standing commitment to quality, comfort, and material expertise.
Into the 2000s
As the market evolved, so did we. In the 2000s, our team expanded beyond traditional linings into functional fabrics, outerwear materials, high-density constructions, and custom fabric development. Through continued research, product expansion, and close collaboration with textile partners, we built a broader material portfolio to support the changing needs of brands, designers, and manufacturers.
In 2015, we officially became Leadex & Co., marking a new chapter of brand development, product refinement, and professionalized textile services. Today, we not only offer a wide range of linings, outerwear fabrics, filaments, staple fibers, plastic resins, and polymer material solutions, but also develop our own fabric collections and serve as a sourcing partner for clients seeking reliable solutions from Taiwan.
With strong connections across Taiwan’s textile mills and material supply chain, we help customers source, develop, and customize fabrics based on their application, performance needs, and market direction.
In 2022, Gaia Material LLC was established in California to expand our North American presence and better support international clients across textiles, plastic resins, polymer materials, and sustainable material solutions.

A new era
In 2026, we expanded our client experience on both sides of the Pacific. At our Taipei head office, we opened Fabric House, a fabric showroom where visitors can explore curated textile collections, discover new material possibilities, and connect more closely with our fabric expertise. In Southern California, we also opened our first U.S. office space, creating a dedicated place for sourcing teams, brands, and companies to review selected fabric collections and discuss development needs in person.
Together, these spaces represent our continued effort to bring Taiwan’s textile resources closer to clients, while providing more direct, hands-on support for both local and international markets.
"From our roots in Taiwan’s textile industry to our growing global network, our mission remains the same: to provide quality materials, promote cleaner raw materials, and build long-term partnerships grounded in trust, transparency, and reliable service."
